The focus of the PTE exam pattern 2018 is for aspirants who plan to study abroad but hail from countries where English is not the native language. PTE 2018 test measures candidates on four language skill sets, namely the writing, speaking, reading, and listening. According to the PTE 2018 test pattern, the writing and the speaking modules are integrated into one; Reading and Listening modules are designed separately. All the test takers are evaluated on the basis of the aggregate score obtained from the PTE test. The total duration of the PTE 2018 test is of three hours. Candidates need to use a computer and a headset to listen, respond and read the questions.

PTE Exam Pattern 2018 - Part 1: Speaking & Writing

PTE 2018 test evaluates both the writing and speaking abilities of an aspirant. Candidates are asked to repeat sentences, answer questions and summarize given paragraphs. The speaking section 1 contains a personal introduction part where the candidates have to introduce themselves within 30 seconds. However, this item is not scored, but it gives the candidates a chance to introduce themselves to the institute. On the computer screen the candidates can see a recording box and after a beep or tone, they are asked to speak immediately. Similarly, there are many other items such as repeating a sentence or describing an image seen on the screen.
